The Blockchain Industry Coordinating Committee of Nigeria (BICCoN) is pleased to announce that it has been honoured with the Ecosystem Partner Award at the Tokenized Economy Conference 2024, held on the 3rd and 4th of October at Baze University, Abuja. This award is a recognition of BICCoN’s ongoing contributions to the growth and responsible adoption of blockchain technology across Nigeria.
Representing BICCoN at the event, Mr. Lucky Uwakwe, Chairman of BICCoN, accepted the award on behalf of the coordinating committee. The conference, which brought together over 3,000 participants and more than 30 tech leaders from the public and private sectors, focused on driving blockchain adoption and exploring its potential across various industries.
Mr. Uwakwe also took part in a panel discussion titled “Blockchain and the Nigerian Economy.” During the session, he offered valuable insights on the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Program (ARIP) for virtual assets service providers and its implications for blockchain businesses in Nigeria. He highlighted the collaborative role BICCoN continues to play in shaping policies that ensure a balanced, innovation-friendly environment for blockchain enterprises.
